The Rutgers Youth Percussion Ensemble’s mission is to help drummers and mallet players, ages 13 to 18, grow to be percussionists and develop into well-rounded, confident, and dynamic musicians. A strong sense of commitment and teamwork is central to the RYPE experience. RYPE’s repertoire includes core literature, cutting-edge music by emerging artists, tasteful arrangements of well-known classical works, entertaining novelty music, authentic world/roots music, and engaging performance art.
